Neurodivergence, ADHD & Autism Counseling

Neurodivergence, ADHD & Autism Counseling

Living with ADHD, autism, or another form of neurodivergence can affect the way you experience daily life. You may have spent years feeling misunderstood, working harder than others realize, or wondering why things that seem simple for other people take so much effort. Staying organized, beginning or completing tasks, handling changes, navigating relationships, or managing sensory input may leave you feeling overwhelmed or exhausted. Whether you have a formal diagnosis or are beginning to wonder if ADHD or autism may be part of your experience, counseling gives you a place to better understand yourself. Your counselor will help you explore how you think, feel, communicate, and respond to the world around you, recognize where you need support, and develop practical tools that fit the way your brain works.

Complimentary consultation: 15 minutes with a counselor.

Who We Serve

  • Children, teens, and adults with ADHD, autism, or other forms of neurodivergence
  • Those wondering whether ADHD or autism may help explain patterns they have experienced
  • Individuals diagnosed later in life who are beginning to understand past experiences in a new way
  • People who feel overwhelmed by daily responsibilities, sensory input, transitions, or social expectations
  • Those looking for practical support that fits the way they think, learn, and move through daily life

What We Help With

  • Difficulty with focus, restlessness, impulsivity, or staying with a task
  • Challenges with beginning or completing tasks, planning, organization, and time management
  • Sensory sensitivities, transitions, changes in routine, or becoming easily overwhelmed
  • Communication, social situations, relationships, or frequently feeling misunderstood
  • Anxiety, shame, self-doubt, or exhaustion after years of working harder than others may realize

How We Help

  • Help you better understand your strengths, challenges, and the kinds of support that are most helpful
  • Develop practical tools for planning, organization, routines, time management, and completing tasks
  • Recognize signs of sensory or emotional overload and find ways to respond before you reach your limit
  • Strengthen communication and help you express your needs at home, school, work, or in relationships
  • Work through shame, anxiety, or self-doubt connected to years of feeling different or misunderstood

A meaningful place to begin

The effort you are putting in may not always be visible to others.

You may have been told that you are lazy, too sensitive, disorganized, difficult, or not trying hard enough. Others may not see how much energy it takes to stay focused, keep up with expectations, manage sensory input, or recover after social situations. Over time, these messages can affect the way you see yourself.

Your counselor will provide you with a place to take a deeper look at your experiences and gain a better understanding of yourself. Together, you can identify what makes daily life more difficult, recognize the strengths you already use, and find support that fits you and helps daily life feel more manageable.

Our approach

Support that begins with understanding how you experience the world.

We understand that ADHD and autism look different for every person. Your counselor will take time to learn how you process information, communicate, experience emotions and sensory input, and navigate everyday demands. They will also take time to understand your interests, abilities, relationships, and goals.

Together, you will decide what would be most helpful. This may include creating manageable routines, breaking tasks into smaller steps, preparing for transitions, learning ways to handle overwhelm, strengthening communication, and working through the impact of feeling different or misunderstood.

Our goal is to help you understand yourself more fully, find support that fits your needs, and move through daily life with greater confidence while honoring who you are.
