Getting to know Jeannette
Care that makes space for your story.
You may find yourself carrying a lot. Caring for your family, navigating complicated relationships, and trying to keep up with the many demands of daily life, while quietly wondering where you fit into it all. Even when you deeply love the people in your life, the constant giving can leave you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to make room for your own needs.
As a mother and human, Jeannette brings personal and professional experience Jeannette comes to this work with both professional training and personal experience. Her path toward counseling began when she was a teacher and found herself drawn to the conversations that went beyond academics. One student whose life had been shaped by significant trauma left a lasting impression on her and awakened a desire to support people in a deeper and more meaningful way.
Having walked through difficult seasons in her own life, Jeannette knows how transformative it can be to have someone listen with compassion and without judgment. Those experiences have deepened her empathy and shaped the way she sits with others. She does not believe hardship defines a person, but she does believe it can deepen compassion, reveal resilience, and become part of the movement toward healing.
Jeannette works primarily with women, including overstimulated mothers and women navigating postpartum changes, sexual trauma, disordered eating, relationship struggles, and church hurt. She also supports people who are parenting or partnering with someone who is neurodivergent, trying to break generational patterns, or healing from relationships with emotionally immature parents or partners.
Her approach to counseling is warm, gentle, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Rather than focusing on what is wrong, Jeannette seeks to understand what has happened and honor the strengths that have helped each person survive. She draws from EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, DBT, and Story Work based on the needs of the person sitting with her.
Clients can expect Jeannette to be compassionate, curious, accepting, and fully present. She wants people to feel free to bring every part of their stories into the room and know they will be met with care. Her hope is that clients feel seen and cared for as they move toward greater freedom, hope, and a deeper sense of coming home to themselves. Sometimes that process includes laughter, tears, anger, and many emotions within the same session.
For those whose faith is an important part of their story, Jeannette welcomes conversations about faith, doubt, church hurt, and spiritual concerns with care and respect. She also welcomes clients from all backgrounds and beliefs.
Outside the counseling room, Jeannette enjoys reading, running, art, outdoor adventures, and cheesy movies. She loves spending time with her husband, children, and their dog, Daisy. Jeannette often finds joy in the unexpected moments of everyday life.
