Getting to know David
Care that makes space for your story.
From the outside, it may look like you are handling things well. You keep showing up for school, work, relationships, and the responsibilities in front of you. Inside, though, anxiety, panic, grief, relationship struggles, or questions about faith may be taking more out of you than anyone realizes. You do not have to wait until everything falls apart to have a place where you can slow down, speak honestly, and begin making sense of what you are carrying.
David comes to this work with both professional training and personal understanding. During a season of relationship-based anxiety, he found that the familiar ways he had tried to manage what he was experiencing were no longer enough on their own. Counseling gave him a place to understand his emotions, communicate more openly, and connect more deeply with his wife. Experiencing the power of being genuinely understood helped lead David from ministry into the counseling profession and continues to shape the way he sits with clients today.
David works primarily with men, teens, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, panic, grief, stress, burnout, relationship struggles, faith-related concerns, and major life transitions. He also supports people who feel emotionally disconnected, have difficulty expressing what they need, or find themselves repeating patterns that keep them from experiencing the closeness and wellness they desire.
His approach to counseling is person-centered, attachment-based, and emotionally focused. David believes people have meaningful reasons for responding to life in the ways they do. Rather than judging a reaction or immediately trying to change it, he helps clients become curious about what it may be protecting or communicating. He also incorporates practical wellness and lifestyle tools that support emotional, relational, spiritual, and physical well-being outside the counseling room.
Clients can expect David to be warm, genuine, curious, and nonjudgmental. He creates a space where people do not have to arrive with the right words or have everything figured out. His hope is that clients feel deeply listened to, emotionally understood, and more connected to themselves. When they are ready, he helps them begin making choices that more closely reflect what they want and value.
For those whose faith is an important part of their story, David welcomes conversations about faith, questions, and spiritual struggles with care and respect. He also welcomes clients from all backgrounds and beliefs.
