Website Privacy
How Pinnacle Counseling Institute handles information collected through this website.
Last updated: August 27, 2026
This policy describes how Pinnacle Counseling Institute (“Pinnacle,” “we,” “us”) collects and handles information through this website. It applies to visitors of this website only.
This is not our Notice of Privacy Practices. If you become a client, the health information created and kept as part of your counseling care is protected under separate federal and state health privacy laws, and is described in the Notice of Privacy Practices you receive when you begin services. That notice — not this website policy — governs your clinical record.
If you fill out the contact form on this website, we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, phone number, and the message you write. If you email or call us using the addresses and numbers listed on this site, we receive whatever information you include.
Contact form submissions are stored in this website’s database and are also emailed to our staff. Along with your submission, our forms software records the date and time and the IP address of the device used to submit it.
Like most websites, our web host keeps standard server logs. These typically include IP addresses, browser and device type, pages requested, and the date and time of the request. We use these only to keep the site running and secure.
We use information collected through this website to:
We do not use website contact information to send marketing email unless you have asked us to.
We use a small number of outside services to run this website. When a page loads a resource from one of these providers, that provider necessarily receives your IP address and basic technical information about your request.
Links to Google Maps appear on our contact and location pages. These are ordinary links — nothing is sent to Google unless you choose to click one.
Appointment requests and the client portal are handled by SimplePractice, our practice management provider, through their own secure systems. When you request an appointment or use the portal, the information you submit is collected and stored by SimplePractice under their privacy and security practices and their agreement with us, not by this website.
If you prefer not to use the online request form, you are always welcome to call or email us instead.
Please do not send detailed health information through the website contact form or by ordinary email. Regular email and website forms are convenient, but they are not secure channels. Tell us only enough to help us route your request — we will follow up through a more appropriate channel.
This website is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or concerned about your immediate safety, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. Messages sent through this site are not monitored continuously.
We keep website contact form submissions and related correspondence only as long as needed to respond to you, to maintain a reasonable record of our communication, and to meet any legal or professional obligations that apply. Website server logs and backups are kept on a rolling basis and age out over time.
Records created as part of counseling care are retained separately, under the requirements that apply to clinical records.
This website is served over an encrypted connection. Access to the website’s administrative area and to form submissions is limited to people who need it. Our practice management and client portal systems are operated by our provider under their own security controls.
No website or method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. That is why we ask you not to send detailed health information through this site.
You may contact us at any time to:
We will respond to reasonable requests. Some information may need to be retained where a legal, professional, or clinical recordkeeping obligation applies. Requests about a clinical record are handled under the Notice of Privacy Practices rather than this policy.
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children through this website. Counseling services for minors are arranged by a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please contact us and we will remove it.
This site links to other organizations, including our client portal, mapping services, and crisis resources. Once you follow a link away from this website, this policy no longer applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
We may update this policy as our website or the services behind it change. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after an update means the revised policy applies.
If you have questions about this policy or about information you submitted through this website, please reach out.
